-
The Teutonia Club was an
association of the
German community in Singapore. It was founded in 1856. Over the years,
there were a series of club buildings. On 21 September 1900, a new club
building, resembling a castle along the Rhine, was opened on Scott
Road. During WWI, most of the German population of Singapore was
shipped to Australia. The Teutonia Club building was ceased. Eventually
it became the Goodwood Park Hotel. [see here]
