In 1866, the Vacuum Oil Co. was incorporated in Rochester, New York

In 1879, Standard Oil Co., purchases a three-quarter interest in the Vacuum Oil Co.

In 1893, the firm was established at Robinson Quay, Singapore and sold kerosene and lubricants.

In 1931, Socony [Standard Oil of New York] acquires the Vacuum Oil Co. and changes its name to Socony-Vacuum Corp.

In 1955 it became Socony Mobil Oil Company, in 1966 Mobil Oil, in 1998 Exxon and Mobil merged and became Exxon Mobil.
