Both Mr. Otto Puttfarcken (a German) and Mr. Johann Otto Rheiner (a Swiss) had worked for Rautenberg, Schmidt and Company since 1854. [L02 table C] [M04p217] [H06p312 & 404]

In 1888, Otto Rheiner left Singapore and the firm became Puttfarcken and Company. [M04p218] [H06p404]

PERFINs 1890 Established in Singapore in 1857.

Both principals were clerks in Rautenberg Schmidt before 1858 and the date of the firm’s founding is said to be Jan. 1, 1857. It became Puttfarcken and Co. in 1888 at a time when the firm employed 11 assistants. The firm went into liquidation before 1910. [Additional information from John Wilson 20 November 2006. [M04]]
