Notes:

In 1919 the Oversea-Chinese Bank Limited was founded.

In 1925 opened a branch in Xiamen, China.

Had offices in: Penang, Rangoon, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Amoy and Djambi (Sumatra). [L03p466]

On 14 December 1932 the Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation [OCBC] was born out of the Great Depression with the merger of three banks: the Chinese Commercial Bank Limited (1912), the Ho Hong Bank Limited (1917) and the Oversea-Chinese Bank Limited (1919). [L03p467]

Shortly after its founding, the bank opened branches in: Surabaya, Bangkok, Haiphong, Alor Star, Taiping, Ipoh, Telok Anson, Klang, Segamat and Johore Bahur. [L03p469]

Today (2006), the OCBCL has operations in 15 countries and territories.
