In 1903 it became incorporated and was taken over by a London company, McIlwraith, McEacharn and Co. These proprietors directed the Company’s activities toward shipping and coaling and exports. Branches were established at Penang, 1898, Ipoh, 1904, and Kuala Lumpur, 1906. At one time Austrlian pearls at auction were a specialty of the company.
