Established about 1888 by Mr. W. Dallan who was from Australia.

He died in 1901 and Mrs. Dallan carried on the business until 1905, when Mr. Greaves, took it over. Mr. Greaves was a native of Melbourne who had come to the Straits Settlements after spent seven years in India.

The stables could accommodate 225 horses.

The firm sold carriages and fodder imported from Austria and India. They also rented horse.

Their spatiality was providing horse and carriages for weddings.

The buildings on Koek Road covered about three acres and the proprietor lived onsite as did the chief trainer and his assistants. In 1908, the firm employed 4 Europeans and close to 125 natives.
