  • Partners were D. Brandt from Hanau, Germany [W05p669] H. Muehlinghaus and H. Brinkmann. [M4p186-7]
  • Mr. de Brandt was knighted by the Austrian Emperor for his many years as the Austrian Consul in Singapore. He retired in 1904. [W05p669] [A01] [H06p396]
  • The firm had a Paris office [W05p669]
  • Exports: specialized in rubber & gutta but exported practically every article produced in or shipped to Singapore [W05p669]
  • Mr. de Brandt interest ceased in 1914 when the firm was closed by the Custodian of Enemy Property. [H06p321]
  • In 1915, two Swiss, J. Schudel and his brother G. Schudel, who had been partners in the firm of de Brandt acquired the firm and operated under the style of Schmid & Schudel & Co. [H06p396]
