Updated: 1July 2006 Notes: In 1879, Mr. M. Ribeiro was a Consul for Portugal. He might have had a firm called Ribeiro & Co. [M04p217] His son, was C. A. Ribeiro [M04p217] C. A. Ribeiro & Co. founded the printing business in Singapore in 1895 [W05p705] [M04p217] They were stationers, printers, bookbinders, rubber stamps makers and philatelists. They gave up their philatelic business in 1903 to concentrate on their other lines. [W05p705] I have seen books published by them as late as 1928. In 1895 they were located at No. 15, Battery Road, Singapore. This seen as the printed return address of a registered cover to France posted Nov 19, 1895.
