Notes:
- Established in 1876 and interestingly, the principal was resident in Cambridgeshire, England. The other partners were the Hiltermann Bros., who traded in Manchester in a firm organized in 1854 with a branch office in Bradford. A London firm of Brinkmann & Co. of 7 Mincing Lane. - John G. Brinkmann, a Brit, and Ernest Nikolaus Kuempers, a German, were partners in the firm Brinkmann Kuempers & Co. they established in 1867. [B02] [H06p402]
- The partnership was dissolved in 1876 when Brinkmann, along with the Manchester textile firm of Hiltermann Bros., founded the firm of Brinkmann & Co. Ernest Nikolaus Kuempers then opened a firm under the style of Kuempers & Co. in 1876. [H06p402]
