Bendixsen & Co., Ltd. was formed in 1922 by Aage Bendixsen as a
rubber importing concern with offices in London and Singapore.
- He was born in Thisted, Denmark on 18 Dec. 1887
- In
1908, he began working for the East Asiatic Co. in London as a clerk.
He rose to the rank of assistant manager in 1914 and left the firm in
1922 to found his own.
- In 1930 they had their Singapore office
at 19-21, Chartered Bank Chambers. A.G. Shafe and Th. Mailskev both
signed per pro. In Penang they had their office at 8 Beach Street.
Their Malacca office & godown were at North Reclamation Ground (No.
1). The directors were G.B. Anderson, E. Bendixsen, T.A. Wilson. Aage
Bendixsen was managing director.
- They had branch offices
in: Singapore, Colombo, Seremban, Kuala Kangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Penang,
Teluk Anson, Ipoh, Malacca, Lumut and Sitiawan.
- In 1932 he sold his interest in his firm ans went to work in the USA in various functions related to the rubber industry.
- Aage Bendixsen died in New York on 25 February 1950.

At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the members of the company held
at its offices at 13 Rood Lane, E.C. 3, on 28 February
1939, a resolution was passed to windup the company due
to its liabilities. [THE LONDON GAZETTE, 7 MARCH, 1939]
- A
firm known as Anglo-French & Bendixsen's. Ltd existed in the late
1920's as crude rubber merchants, operating out of offices in the Union
Building on Collyer Quay. The store was at Godown No. 10, Prince Edward
Road. An Emil Bendixsen was one of the directors. [John Wilson, Sept.
