  • A. Clouet & Co. [1892 – 1953] [See Ayam below ]
  • The Frenchman Alfred Clouet arrived in Singapore in 1892 and set himself up in business as an importer of European goods. The company symbol was the rooster which is called "Ayam" in the Malay language. It is still today the trademark of many food products. The company was purchased in 1953 by the Denis Frères group which trades throughout Asia and the Pacific region. [See Denis Freres Group below]
